I know how to get the duty drawback on fuel if I fly to the continent - i.e. France, but how do I get the tax back from the French when I fill up in France for the return journey?

I have a French licence conversion and I've spoken to the FNA in France who put me onto the DGAC (French CAA) who haven't yet come back to me.

It seems to me that if I could work this out, then I could fly to the South of France and back for something like 40 pence per litre - living in the North, it makes a big difference!

Sorry, can't help you but I've just come across this fuel drawback idea the other day which certainly makes Alderney look attractive in a C-172 with big tanks.

It will be interesting to see the replies.:)

I dont think that the French will give you the tax back on a private flight.
