Five unhurt as plane crashlands
A light aircraft with five people onboard has sparked a full-scale emergency after its wheels collapsed on landing.
The Piper Seneca aircraft skidded along the runway at Glasgow Prestwick International Airport in Ayrshire, but remained upright.
The incident happened at 10.27am.
Emergency crews were immediately at the scene.
The four passengers and a crew member were unhurt. The flight had taken off from Stapleford, Cambridgeshire.
A spokesman for Glasgow Prestwick Airport said: "On landing at Glasgow Prestwick this morning, the landing gear of a Piper Seneca light aircraft collapsed.
"The aircraft was inbound from Stapleford near London Stansted. Four passengers and one crew member were on board. There were no injuries. There was no fire. The aircraft remained upright."
The airport remained open during the incident and there are no delays to scheduled services.
The aircraft is being removed from the runway.
