Can some one tell me why, on a preflight you can check the movement of a C152s rudder but not on a PA28?

Re rudders

PA28 has direct linkage to nose wheel therefore don't waggle the rudder, probably bend something.
C 150/152 has indirect linkage(bungee cord or the like)to nose wheel so waggle away.
Full and free whilst taxing, PA28 whilst moving, C150/152 either on the move or static.
Hope this helps

As Flying Farmer more or less indicated. In flight the Cessnas keep the nose wheel straight with a cam on the oleo. The steering rods (AUS $600 each) have a spring in them that allows you to use the rudder in flight without the nose wheel moving. I just had to replace mine and cut one open for a instructional tool. Autch.
In the Pipers the nose wheel moves with the rudder in flight.

Is that the same for the new 172s too?
