As an interested PAX, I was just curious if there was a standard 'code' of call bell signals from the flight deck to the cabin crew - ie, 2 'pings' - cabin crew released etc.

The answers will probably vary depending on the company, and within each company it may vary depending on the type of aircraft.

Common chime occurrences are when 1) Aircraft is cleaned up after takeoff (i.e. takeoff phase is fully complete), 2) Passing sterile altitude point 3) Approaching the point where the cabin needs to be prepared for arrival. These are of course in addition to seat-belt chimes and interphone communication bells.

Whether it's one-ping or two-pings (or more) depends on the things mentioned in the first paragraph.

My company:

Signs are 'cycled' after flap retraction.... this allows the cabin crew to move but keeps the pax seated. Signs are switched off when weather permits (obviously)

On descent signs are switch on at 20,000 and cycled at 10,000ft to let cabin crew know they have 5 minutes until landing.
