Thinking of trying to move on from my current position with a regional airline, just wondering how difficult is the A320 rating because I hear is as about the toughest rating to pass.

Just like to know what part of the course you found difficult and how does the exam compare to say the ATPL's

Cheers

Having instructed on A320 and B737/B777 Conversion courses, I can assure you that the Airbus conversion course is no different really from any other type. Due to the higher degree of automation, there is a greater requirement for understanding the various flight modes, and if you are Boeing rated, you will find the FMGC has some subtle differences from Honeywell/Boeing FMS. You may also find the format and grammar in the FCOMs bl***y annoying, but otherwise, it is a similar course. Be a bit wary if you are using the Airbus CBT (VACBI) as this will not necessarily confer sufficient knowledge in enough depth to get you through a conversion course.

All the best, and blue skies
