Immigration scam run by BA desk operative at LHR

The London Standard newspaper reports :
BA supervisor 'on the run in India' accused of organising £3million immigration scam from Heathrow

He is said to have helped passengers without the correct visas fly to Canada, for a £25,000 fee.

I wouldn't myself classify this as a "scam", since a scammer takes money fraudulently. This guy delivered – albeit illegally.

So he was arrested in the UK but then managed to fly to India? Good luck finding him.

How was that allowed to happen?
