Hello All,

Re:
The spoilers are used to decrease the speed (speed brake) and to dump lift on ground (ground spoilers).
All the spoilers (1 to 7) are used for the speed brake function.
With all the spoilers (1 to 7), all the ailerons are used for the lift dumping function (ground spoilers).

Could someone go into more detail about the aileron/ground spoiler action?
They appear to deploy later than the 1 to 7 spoilers
Would left or right stick (crosswind landing) movement override the ailerons positions as ground spoilers?

Regards

FCOM seems to suggest that roll control is still available via ailerons. Looking at some YouTube videos it is actually rare to see the ailerons extend. In fact out of the 20 landings that I watched the ailerons extended only once. Not quite sure what the logic is behind the Aileron extension.

Take a look at these videos

Thank you for your reply Airmann,

I have watched a lot of A350 wing view landing videos and I agree it seems to be rare.

I also cannot work out the logic as they certainly do not deploy/retract with the other ground spoilers.

I have watched some A320 aileron/spoiler videos as well. This more clear as while the aileron/spoiler deploys later than the other ground spoilers (probably due to all gear needing to be on the ground), the aileron/spoiler is released back to aileron only mode at the same time as the other ground spoilers are retracted.

I am puzzled.
