Hello All,
I would like to know if B1.1 can certify NDT task or not. I know that NDT staff is required to perform and certify the NDT task. However, there are some NDT tasks which can be signed by B1.1 also NDT performed via Go-No go test equipment will not required NDT staff but B1.1 can also certify the task.
1. Can B1.1 also be as a NDT staff, if he clears L1, L2 and L3 level required for NDT staff ?
2. Or it's not permitted to have B1.1 to certify NDT task at all ? Here my question is related to HFEC/LFEC or x-ray inspection where extensive analysis is required.

In my experience, certainly in the case of complex NDT techniques where interpretation is required, the NDT technician will provide the results in the medium of a Form 1. The B1 engineer certifies the workorder to the effect that the inspection was satisfactory (or not) by reference to the Form 1, and including certification for prep/deprep.

Thank you, it helped.
In addition to the above question, LAME/B1.1 engineers are certified to work on various systems and components related to turbine-powered aircraft, including engines, aircraft structure, hydraulic systems, flight controls, and landing gear. However, for line maintenance certifying staff holding a B1.1 license, what is the probability that they also hold L1, L2, or L3 certifications required for NDT task certification, which is generally not found in aviation maintenance due to the nature of work and workload they have?
