There are hundreds of them on the ND irrespective of aircraft location. Seem random, any ideas?

Which aircraft? I've never noticed any white dots on the Boeings I fly...

On the 787 ND if you have AIRPORTS selected for display, they show as white dots if the scale is set too high. This may be true for STATIONS as well.

OK will check this out on the way back, looks highly likely to be airports at the high scale settings.
