I fly for a US carrier and get to go to LHR. We often get in before 600am and end up holding. I heard of a fine and I was wondering if anybody knew how much it was ?? :)

Somebody might know... but it's entirely outside ATC control and we're not required to police the curfew. Unless you tell us you can't land we'll keep vectoring you towards the field. Your company must know what the penalties are.

As HD says the night jet ban is policed by the owners of the airport, Heathrow Airport Ltd. A certain number of landings per year are allowed during the night jet ban (around 3000?) and these are shared out amongst the airlines. There is a fine for breaking the noise limits, which are different for day and night operations, and this is set at a certain rate per decibel above the limit. I am not sure about actually landing within the curfew hours without authorisation. The fines are not kept by HAL, but I believe are distributed to local worthy causes.
