Surely bodes well for passenger aircraft too?

Can they build one by April Fool's Day 24?

Ken second that view. Range is a little suspect give most electric cars that I've looked are limited to about 300 to 500 miles

It is obviously a fly by wire system so should give excellent range provided the cable is light and long enough :ok:

No, it will tow a Houchin along behind it ;)

That would only work for low level IFR surely (It Follows Roads). Railway bridges would require some tricky flying too.

One of those Houchins with a 6 litre emissionless diesel engine??

Thanks Charliegolf; I didn't know you could do that.

Trouble with Houchins is finding one with a charged battery to start the Houchin you want to use, especially if that one has a flat battery too. Then you need to find another Houchin to start that Houchin and so on :bored:

Concur! Caused the boss of the Košice training squadron to spin out of a low-speed scissors during a 1v1 in the overhead. Luckily he managed to recover, albeit well below base ht! He also had a good sense of humour, as I recall.

Oh, you old spoil sport, back to your beetles and fir cones.

Perhaps the cables got tangled? That can happen if there is a bit of a crosswind.

Bugger.

I missed the course on beetles, what did it teach?

It is all to do with sex, as you would expect - an odd bunch are your entomologists.
Entomologists led by Dr Ana Cristina Pellegrino from the University of Săo Paulo studied mating behavior changes in the curcurbit beetle, the true armyworm moth, and the potato aphid under falling, stable, and increasing air pressure conditions.

When they measured the male beetles’ response to female sex pheromones under the different conditions, they found a significant decrease in pheromone response when air pressure fell compared to stable or increasing pressure.

Furthermore, 63 percent of males started copulating faster in the presence of females during dropping atmospheric pressure, a condition associated with high rains and winds. By contrast, under stable or rising air pressure conditions, all males showed full courtship behavior.

Surprised you did not know that.
