I was en-route to KJFK the other day from Toronto when I came across the VOR called Buffy. I wonder, does anyone know whether it is named after Buffy the Vampire Slayer?

:D

Hello Boys and Girls and fellow citizens of Wibble,

I doubt it. Nice thought though Nigey!

I believe there are some intersections in E USA called MICKY, MINIE and PLUTO......

Someone has a sense of humour anyway!

Cheers
EA:)

In fact, I have just found an approach into Portsmouth NH, USA, which basically consists of:

ITAWT - ITAWA - PUDYE - TTATT with missed approach of IDEED

(the immortal words of Sylvester the Cat; I- thought- I -saw- a- puddy- tat...I deed !):D

THINK intersection is near the birthplace of IBM's founder, Thomas Watson, so it wouldn't surprise me if BUFFY was named after the vampire slayer ;)

Cheers
EA:)

How about SNUPY intersection, which is apparently right near the home of the late Charles Schultz.
