Does anyone have a rough idea of what a TRI can charge per day in the UK?

Thanks in advance.

On a G650 anything between 2000-4000 GBP. Depends on the day and the actual task/mission. Is it just line flying/introduction or aircraft base training plays a role.

Were you thinking of any specific aircraft type perhaps?

Sorry, I should have been more specific, I forgot to include the type. 737 TRI, just sim/classroom no base training.

Yeah, I thought so. I think it´s likely that most B737 TRI´s are only doing inhouse airline training, with only few doing freelancing day jobs as TRI´s . I could be wrong.

Most of the ATO’s offer a similar amount which has been reduced since covid but for B737/A320 the rates are similar at around £400-£500 per session.

most providers are situated around the main London airports but speaking from experience Gatwick is the main place.

You would have to be recruited by the ATO as one of their contract TRI’s which would normally involve some form of interview and if accepted then some standardising. The rates paid are set by the ATO.

experience as a TRI helps. A newly qualified TRI will find it hard to break in to the ATO and join the team but it can be done.

not much demand right now for B757/767 TRI/TRE’s as it’s becoming an aging type. B737/A320 followed by A330/350 and perhaps 787 is the more sort after types due to market share and airlines using third party ATO’s for training rather then in house ATO training which most airlines have but not always the availability of trainers and sims to conduct full type ratings or conversion courses.

the CAA publishes a list on their website of all the ATO’s in the country, the types they’re certified for and normally some kind of contact detail (Google may help here) if you are a TRI and interested then reach out and simply ask the question.

Hope that helped.
