Proposed for NEW aircraft, two years after the legislation is passed but ALPA wants it retrofitted!

My humble opinion is ( if it has to happen) on narrow body jets put a cage door further aft so that the toilet and galley 1L area is secure to exit the flight deck.

It is not a wind up.

Here is a link to ALPA and their thoughts….https://www.alpa.org/advocacy/flight-deck-barriers

https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/us-faa-proposes-that-new-planes-have-second-flight-deck-barrier-2022-07-27/

Here it is from the FAA…https://www.faa.gov/newsroom/faa-moves-secondary-flight-deck-barrier-requirement-forward

Of course this rule would only affect US operations and even then only for new build aircraft.

You'll be the guy drinking in the corner all alone with no mates.

That would be a good little prison for recalcitrant passengers

People getting on a jet and seeing that will have less respect than ever for crew.
