Oshkosh Airshow Socials

Heading over to Oshkosh for the first time next week, wondering if anyone has any tips for bars/pubs etc for the evening socials downtown?

Stayed in the university dorm, don't know about downtown as dinner and evenings in the dorm dining area provided all the aviation entertainment one needed, an opportunity to converse/sup with folks of all manner of aviation backgrounds.

Register at the Visitors tent, connect with others (board of phone numbers) and you get an invitation to their free dinner at the Nature Center Pavilion, probably Thursday evening. The International Aerobatic Club has a dinner in a marquee near that pavilion one evening too. Hilton Garden Inn adjacent to the airfield is where many of the airshow performers stay - there'll be a gathering of aussies there for dinner on the Thursday at 7 pm - RSVP via the Facebook group. 2018 was my last trip (had booked for 2020 ...). I rarely have a need to look for a restaurant during my week there.

Thanks for the info guys, I'm staying in Horizon Village on the campus so assumed there would be somethings going on near there. Just wondered if people head to the bars in town too
