Good morning all,
Is there any one who can help me find a flight school that are able to train me. I was hoping to do my training at Phoenix East Aviation academy as I believe that the could supply a course that would have been most suitable to my needs. They have told me that they are not able to train me as they are an accredited school and as I have no High-school qualifications. I did attend school but because I signed up to join the British army at 16 years of age, I did not take my exams as they were scheduled for after my joining date.
I served in the Army for just under 5 years
I then served for 30 years in the Fire and Rescue Service.
I have completed part of an Astronomy Degree course at the Open University.
My flying experience is :-
UK CAA Commercial Rotary ME IR (1900) (IR not current)
UK CAA Private Fixed wing (138 hours)
FAA Commercial Helicopter
I have recently passed the FAA theory exams for IR Airplane, Helicopter instructor rating and fundamentals of instruction.

I currently fly for a private owner of a Helicopter.

What I would finally like to achieve is a FAA CPL IR to be able to fly a Seneca V with a Garmin 1000. My fixed wing hours are low and I would be pretty rusty. Can anyone give me guidance please.

Graham

Have you spoken to the head of training? What you say sounds to me akin to the nonsense you hear from an office jobs worth. Both your experience and qualifications far exceed any high School certification. Most universities have some form of accreditation for experience and relevant professional qualifications, which you have in abundance.

Thanks for your advice Flingfrog. They are trying to get in touch with me, hopefully with some positive news.

FIT Aviation in Melbourne appear to be very flexible and helpful.

Both EASA & FAA.

PM for more details.

Good luck.
