"There are a lot of guys at their breaking point. It's actually amazing that we haven't had an accident yet."

You'd think that would stir the travelling public up a bit! I certainly wouldn't get on a flight with aircrew saying that.

Management are too busy writing pleading emails for 'volunteers' instead of doing what needs to be done.

Was bound to travel back with you lot for Christmas. Didn't have to cancel myself as CX messed up my itinerary so much with constant changes and cancellations, that they gave up and offered a refund.

I'll take my money elsewhere, and will continue to do so. Shame. Always enjoyed Cathay business a lot. Especially on the new Airbuses

You'll find them hiding behind every excuse possible. And when GH comes calling you'll find them hiding under their desks.

Just remember for everything you do for this company: help them out on days off, go into discretion to get the job done, find a way to make it to destination sharpening your pencil, answering the phone on days off and rushing it to crew the plane to keep the show on the road, this is what your letter of reference will look like. And no one will ever say thanks. Think about it!To Whom It May Concern,
Captain ***** was employed by Cathay Pacific Airways Limited from ****** to ******; and was most recently employed as a Senior Captain operating the B777.
This employment ended by reason of redundancy.
Captain ****** was not involved in / responsible for any aircraft related Accidents or Serious Incidents in connection with the employment at Cathay Pacific.
No matter what you do to help them out, it doesn't matter. It is just business.
Don't go to work unless it suits you. Remember you are just a number and they will toss you out whenever it suits them.

Ask the guys from KA or on the chopped bases. That’s the reference you get.

I get it, this is a trick question.

We need management about the same as we need hemorrhoids. Just another pain in the ass that makes it hard to do your job.

Pilots being at breaking point is inexcusable at any level and is a direct failure of this pathetic and insensitive CX management!! Why haven’t they moved their pilots to the US as did FedEx (without hesitation I might add!)?? And why hasn’t the Civil Aviation Department (Hong Kong) intervened??

In light of the above I can only conclude that this is all about politics and the CCP stooges obeying every command!

…. oh please do expand, if ony to confirm the identdities of the absolute dip****s involved even if most already know them

Sign this new contract which cuts your salary by 50% - or you are fired.
Get vaccinated - or you are fired.
Stay incarcerated in a single use key hotel room while at work - or you are fired.
Don’t accidentally contract CoVid while at work - or you will be sent to a state sponsored camp at Penny’s Bay, along with your family.

This is the “new normal” at Cathay Pacific and all endorsed and encouraged by a management who refuse to stand up for their own staff.

One wonders why pilots put up with this abuse and how Cathay Pacific think they can retain or attract aircrew.

Because people that do not have first hand experience of the madness happening in the current environment of Hong Kong will be attracted by the shiny (white in this case) jet syndrome. I remember flying with some captains who stated they would wait till the 2 years of childs allowance expired, I wonder if they still have the patience to wait with all the develpment of this (not for the good).

The only thing keeping a lot of people here right now is how disruptive it is to pull kids out of school midway through the year, or with one year to go etc. Once that's over, CX better watch out

And those of us on FULL housing, which all comes to a screeching halt on D- Day 30 September 2022.

Resignation rates will be picking up towards the middle of next year, at that rate there won’t be many left to keep the circus on the road.

Will the last zaffer out, please turn off the lights, let’s be green friendly. Buy a donkey :ok:

Hey, just wondering, has anyone asked if they can spend quarantine in any of Swire’s houses in south Lantau? Home quarantine and all that?
