Hi everyone, I've got a UK/EASA licensing question for a CPL/IR:
I'm a student pilot with UK ATPL theory exams (sat prior to 31 December 2020).
I paused training due to COVID but am looking to go back soon to get my CPL/IR.
My flight school is currently an EASA approved ATO, and will be getting UK approval just in time for 31 December 2022.
There are delays at my flight school so it's looking like I would finish my training after 31st December 2022.
So if I went back to training now, I would complete part of the training under the EASA system up until 31 December 2022, and then the remaining part of the training under the UK system after this date
I found this on the UK CAA website, here is the link for reference: https://info.caa.co.uk/uk-eu-transition/student-pilots/
'UPDATE: When will the UK stop recognising all training and exams taken in the EU system?'
'After 31 December 2022, neither training in the EU system nor exams taken after 31 December 2020 will be accepted in the award of a UK licence.'
Does this mean that training under EASA prior to 31 December 2022 will or won't count towards a UK licence gained after 31 December 2022?
