Do we need to deselect satellites on the MCDU during preflight?
Are we required to do a RAIM prediction when dispatching to an RNAV approach?
thank you!

If you are planning an RNP AR approach then a check is required. In Europe there is a prediction tool. https://augur.eurocontrol.int/status/

The terminomogy and standards are not unified yet.
For us, there is no such thing as RNAV approach. Only RNP and RNP AR.
And for any RNP procedure (SID / ENR / STAR / APCH) based on GNSS some sort of RAIM check is required.
Makes sense, I guess.

We don’t deselect satellites.
For us, RAIM predictions are required when our alternate requires a RNAV (GPS) approach. (Our predictions are included in our flight plan NOTAMs)
