First flight after 7 months. They are lucky they made it to Darwin.

Had the pleasure of flying many long term idle birds late last year. It was a good day if I could get to the holding point without something going wrong.

No the crew just heard, that Air Frontier are looking for pilots for next years dry season.

The skipper and first officer are happy to wait it out in Darwin, than be stuck in Sictoria.

The crew are happy to pay for the GA job ready training package, and do six months in Arnhem Land and get $20.00 per hour tacho time(when it is actually working).

That’s after they leave the Howard Springs Tropical Holiday Resort and pay their 2.5k bill for having the ultimate privilege to be exclusively invited guests at the Resort for 14 days. Airport transfers and meals provided in absolute luxury, what more could the pilots want.

Also note that all GA ready courses mandate that participants with substantial previous flying experience reduce their total aeronautical experience to 150 hours on graduation from the course together with surrendering all their type ratings and instrument rating in order to gain future employment within the industry.

I’m sure we have the capacity in Melbourne or Brisbane to do heavy maintenance on a 737. I know we did in Melbourne as was once an engineer at Tulla.

Duck. That is a valid comment on why?

Why? In a Covid (country) lockdown, are we not enabling employment of what must be a multitude of engineers sitting idly or perhaps chose a less bull**** enabled industry or may have just said “fletch it” I’m retiring from this…..

There will be cricket 🦗 on this as a legitimate skill set in Australia. Despite the rhetoric of aerospace promotion in the “outerspace” field. What was the name of that rocket launching initiative again?
