London Aeroplane Club.

The one time famous London Aeroplane Club was based at the DH aerodrome at Hatfield, to which it had relocated with DeHavillands from Stag Lane. I have several questions for the erudite Members of this forum;-

Did the LAC end at Hatfield - or did it somehow transmute into another name or location....Panshanger possibly?
Who was the pre-war (...and possibly post-war.) Member who was commonly referred to as 'Paddy'....between 1935 - 1940...?

Any answers or clues hugely appreciated....!

I'm fairly sure it transferred to Panshanger but I'm not absolutely certain. I spent a bit of time pestering people there in the late 60s but even more in the middle 50s. Unfortunately, as I was only 3 or 4 I can't remember much!

Training continued to be supervised by de Havillands via the London Aeroplane Club (civilian flying) on the north side ....


1979

London Aeroplane Club applied to the CAA for the aerodrome to be developed into a general aviation base for advanced flying training, engineering and aircraft sales.
