Scrap!!:D :D

No seriously, it is one of the 'A' marrket models, along with ZZE is no longer required. Unfortunately there is no buyer for it at this time.
It was part of the original lease that it would go back after a set period.
The aircraft is minus it's engines because of the worldwide shortage of GE90's as they keep failing ( FYI the latest failures are L.P. compressor blades and H.P. compressor toggle seals letting go that trash the rest of the engine).
Besides the 777's at CWL there are the old classics and IVD the first of the 400's to go.
CWL will soon resemble the old steam engine yards at Barry with loads of corroding hulks that no one wants.;)

So is that the standard way of removing a GE90 then? Whenever I've seen this before (on other types) the whole assembly is removed - including the pylon. Never seen part of the cowling still attached to the a/c before.

I believe that you're looking at the Boeing Thrust reverser hanging on the wing in easy-storage mode. Apparently those aren't in as short of supply arround the world. The engine is completely gone.
