A new flying car is coming up... the Klein Vision AirCar registered OM-KLZ... But I still love Molt Taylor's Aerocar... And James May seemed to have enjoyed it too...

I thought I’d never say it, but James May showcased something I’d rather less fly than an R-22!

A flying car... An expensive flying machine you can park in a parking lot... And my VW Golf just got hit again today while parked in a spot at the grocery store (second time in a year). Would I want to leave something more expensive an delicate parked anywhere around other motorists, and then have both my car and my airplane damaged at the same time? I'm very happy to fly my plane and drive my car - well, not quite so happy about driving the car today, but generally!

Flying cars have been on and off for several decades now. All came, and were soon gone again. Technically they may obviously be made to work; but the basic concept is unsound*, and no amount of technology is going to change that. So nice to daydream of, though...

*DAR has neatly described one reason, among so many.
