How do you interpret what seems like a contradiction, in the highlighted statements side by side in the attached screenshot?

https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune.org-vbulletin/2000x1504/68004929_abb8_425c_8e68_6cb0b3ae1a66_202fe68943e00c270d56ea5 716fa0f9a79c152ac.png

To continue here is what the AIRBUS MEL says on this issue ( the specific MEL has been formed based on requirements from the MMEL) .

https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune.org-vbulletin/1237x810/ce1e2546_9223_4c02_8e9d_ddf75383b10f_40a52101e53bb265cb274a1 3bbfa58e7468b1349.jpeg

It would appear that the highlighted statements in the first screenshot , on the the right ( database currency ) serve as means to deviate from the requirement on the left . However this is not clear and they come from different parts of the same manual .

You can't use a departure/arrival/approach PBN procedure if the navigation database is out-of-date, you can only use it in en-route environment, as the AMC2 CAT.OP.MPA.126 clearly shows.

I don’t see any contradiction.
You can use an out of date database on those conditions.

Yes. Semantically, it doesn’t say that the navigation database needs to be in date, just that the procedure needs to be valid, i.e. it hasn’t changed since the last update.
