Just Curious.
Having just read an article about US regional carrier
American Eagle.
I'm curious about these scope clauses between unions and airlines.
"American Eagle is restricted to operating up to 67 aircraft with more than 44 seats,"
As a result it will have to retire certain airplanes (sort of )
My question is WHY.
I can understand the disadvantage to the airline.
But I can't grasp the advantage to the pilots/union.
