What’s going on in Sweden folks? Potential for 500 to be laid off! Is this a labour law loophole/ bottom covering exercise or a way to trim the fat?

No organisation has anywhere near that much fat. I suggest LFV are holding a gun the Swedish government's head. LFV is one of Europe's commercialised ANSPs that is theoretically supposed to be financially independent of the state. The current crisis shows this is a fantasy. Any ANSP that provides en-route ATC services as well as ATC services at major airports is part of the national transport infrastructure and the government can't allow it to go bust. They can of course still furlough the staff.

LFV can't furlough, as they are a state owned enterprise the rules of furloughing don't apply to them.
