Quick thought on this.
Korean has laid off approximately 400 expat pilots for 3 months on unpaid leave.
Emirates has slashed its pilots salaries by 50% for the next 6 months(?). As has Qatar Airways.
As a pilot what has your airline done or offered you during these dark times.
May be a great indicator of where to be in 6 months time as an airline pilot.

Not meaning to stirr the pot here, but maybe we should we talking about what WE can offer to our airlines so we can still have a future as an airline pilot?

It is a serious dilemma for many.

Many companies asking a lot from crew, only forgetting that not so long ago they had no issue to screw the crew.

Airlines alas unfortunately now have the upper hand and know it.

Crew want longevity in the job.

Airlines need to keep crew...........

Cathay only asked for 3 weeks of voluntarily unpaid leave from its 27 000 employees. Senior management taking pay cuts. No talks of any lay-offs...yet. Keep in mind they had to endure 6 months of HK protests and poor loads literally just before the outbreak. Strong cargo ops and deep pockets I guess.

Sorry, but this is ridiculous,

unless you haven’t noticed, the Global Pandemic has grounded 90% of commercial passenger flight.
Airlines are literally bleeding billions by the week.

no one is having “the upper hand” in this crisis.

you want longevity in the job? Help your company survive

go figure

Should I choose Qatar of Emirates now? Which one is best? Eyeballs rolling.

Neither QR nor EK are hiring.
Unless you are the Sultan’s nephew … 🙄
