Please refer to the document attached for Take off Low visibility operations with RVR below 150 m

In the following AMC, it makes references to Runway Centre Line Lights and to High Intensity Runway Centre Line Lights.

If we refer to the AMC1 we can see that for take off below 400 m RVR the requirements are Runway Edge Lights (RL) and Runway Centre Line lights (CL) but then for take off below 150 m up to 125 m RVR the AMC mentions high intensity runway centre line lights spaced 15 m or less apart and High Intensity Edge Lights (HIRL) spaced 60 m or less apart that are in operation.

I use Jeppesen Charts and I can NOT find in any place references to High Intensity Runway Centre Line lights.
The only runway lights that are both normal and high intensity are the Runway Edge Lights (RL or HIRL), the Runway Centre Line Lights are always referred in the Jeppesen charts as CL.
ANNEX 14, paragraph 5.3.12 also does NOT cover High Intensity lights for the Centre Line lights.

Any hints????

Many thanks

In LIDO charts it is clearly marked both on the AFC (airport facility chart) as well as on the approach chart.

The AIP would be a good place to look at.

E.g. EHAM: https://www.lvnl.nl/eaip/2019-12-19-AIRAC/html/eAIP/EH-AD-2.EHAM-en-GB.html#eham-ad-2.14

The official AIP is in fact always the main source of information...Jeppesen is a repeater

So what exactly is there on 10-9B for AMS or TXL, anyone with a screenshot?

That would be interesting indeed. The one gripe i have with the AIP is the fact that it is not freely available for every country and aircrew flying in an AOC usually have to live and work with the maps they are provided with. It would surprise me if jeppesen as probably the biggest charting provider does not provide a crucial piece of information on its charts. But i haven’t worked with Jeppesen charts in a long time.

In a quick crosscheck over a few more airports apart from my homebase, it seems that all CAT III capable runways have the 15/60 m spacing high intensity lighting. That wasn’t thorough by any means so i might be wrong.

Hi there guys,

Here is a copy of chart 10-9A for EHAM airport. You can see that for both runways 06/24 and 09/27 there is a HIRL (60m) and CL (15m) spacing distance. It might not be as clear as in the LIDO charts but there it is.
