I saw a post on twitter showing the aftermath of a hard landing. (10/01/2019 Nordwind A321 Antalya) The fuselage surrounding the nose wheel was creased and some form of nose wheel structure had penetrated the cabin floor.

I was wondering:

Do ATPs get fired over something like this?
If so, how hard is it for them to get a job afterwards?

Whether they get fired or not presumably depends on why the damage occurred. Blatant failure to follow SOPs or a totally surprising un - forecast 50 kt windshear may tip the balance.

It depends on the just culture of the company and I think that being part of an union could be useful, just in case...

The guys that crashed the LH Cargo MD11f in Riad flew again after a couple weeks and some landing training in the SIM.
