Was spammed yesterday and invited to participate. As I won't need a transponder for the duration of the Rally, I thought I might go!
Anyone else "coasting out"?

Not going but objected to being spammed.

bcfc - at least its something you might have been interested in - people get so upset by EM spam!
So, when is it? I will be down there last week in August, but I suppose the rally is later?
I get around 50 spam emails a day. At least twice a week, one will contain a virus. This was about the first one ever that I had any interest in but on principal, I hate spam. (in fact I hate all pork-based foodstuffs :D )

I get about a dozen spams every day, urging me to buy viagra or enlarge my penis, get a masters degree, change my mortgage, etc, etc
The one from GAC was quite a pleasure!!
Several of us single seat brigade are considering a Balbo to the Channel Isles.

I got the Bumf earlier this year, having expressed an interest last year. I wouldn't call it spam but reading between the lines I'd say the Cherbourg cr*p has put a lot of people off, and they're down on numbers.
Ralph who organises the Alderney Fly-in was trying to down grade the French knee jerk airspace restrictions: Don't know what came of it.
Day job stops me trying Guernsey this year but I've kept the stuff.
If its anything like the Alderney blasts I've been to a couple of times it should be teriffic.
All depends on your attitude to longish distances over H2O with one donkey.
Personally I don't have a prob with this.
Enjoy it Stik.
I'll be there (for the third time). It is usually huge fun - esp the Saturday night bash. The weekend is v well organised, and the club are v friendly IMHO.
Be good to meet up with other PPruners (perhaps Danny should donate a special best PPruner trophy !!!!!)

There are currently 5 pilots of single seater biplanes designed by a chap called Curtis all very much up for it!
How many did Balbo do his 'round the world tour with before WW2?
