Hi

I have recently converted from an old CAA ppl obtained in 1994 to a LAPL with the intention of flying a motorglider I am a syndicate member in,however things have changed somewhat and I find myself flying a Eurostar microlight exclusively and don't intend to fly anything else in the short to medium term.I understand I can fly the Eurostar on the LAPL but can't use the hours to keep the licence current??,if this is the case would I be able to swop to an NPPL which I can use to fly the Eurostar and maintain currency of the NPPL?,could I have both a LAPL licence and NPPL running concurrently?
I have tried the search facility and non of the threads I found made it clear what I can and cannot do,any advice from you sage aviators would be appreciated,

Thanks,

W

Have a look at the NPPL website (http://www.nationalprivatepilotslicence.co.uk/), particularly the licence allowances document (http://www.nationalprivatepilotslicence.co.uk/NPPL%20XC%20REV%2011.pdf). Para 4.1.2 should apply as your LAPL with TMG privileges is effectively an NPPL SLMG. While you're at it, get an SLMG rating on the NPPL as well.

There's no problem with holding an NPPL & an LAPL at the same time.
