Definitely more than a suspected fire...

Cargo fire? Looks more like a cabin fire to me. Crown burned through, no soot or flames from the open fwd cargo hold.

Luggage in the overhead bins perhaps?

Heat rises and exits at the top

Must have been very intense fire, the cabin will probably be nearly non-existant in that forward area.

Difficult fire to deal with as limited places to apply water/foam until the hull was compromised.

Flightglobal:
The airport's operator states that there were no passengers on the aircraft as the emergency developed, and that the incident resulted in smoke from the cargo hold.

The airline reported: (http://avherald.com/h?article=4cc111cc&opt=0)

"On August 27th Beijing time, the CA183 flight from Beijing to Tokyo, during the passenger boarding, found that the cargo space in front of the aircraft smoked, the crew quickly took fire-fighting measures and organized the safe evacuation of all passengers.

Airport stated boarding not yet started but airline reported passengers safely disembarked by the air bridge followed by the crew. At least on picture on social media shows left rear door open and what appears to be some kind of inflatable slide leading from the door - which has smoke billowing from it. Appears hull loss but since only 5 years old a spare parts source.
