Anybody know of an FTO near the Kyle of Lochalsh/Isle of Skye? Reason for asking is that I'm going on holiday up there in September and was wondering if I could get some flying in (even a trial flight) - not yet got my PPL, but it would be nice to see a bit of the scenery up there from the air!!:)

Nearest you will get to kyle mate will be Inverness mate they do training out of there, its about 30 mins flying time in a C150/C172 etc from Inverness hope that helps!

There is an airfield on Skye (over the bridge from Kyle of Lochalsh) but I don't know if there is any training going on. Also you could try Oban (Connel). Hope this helps!
No fixed wing FTOs nearer than Inversnecky, but you might get a microlight trip at Oban, or possibly gliding. Next nearest would be a long way (Perth, Cumbernauld, Dundee etc.). Nothing at Broadford, Glenforsa, Plockton etc. Stunning area to see from the air, worth the trip to Inverness. Try Highland Aeroclub (http://www.highlandaeroclub.co.uk)
