Lido eRoute Manual - what is your take?

Been using Lido charts on EFB/iPads now for a few years and a new version (5) came out recently. As a lifelong Jepp user previously, I really can´t get to grips with this non-intuitive layout and workings. Toyed a bit with the Jeppesen on an iPad recently and got it through it without any issues, whereas the Lido is really :ugh:
To add to that, we have been provided with minimum training and the thing just basically thrown at us... you´ll figure it out...

A previous company went to LIDO charts. I liked a couple of things about them, but one of my colleagues described it best - "Quintessentially German; exacting and complicated" :}

Well, i believe there are different things, the Lido mPilot app for the iPad (current version as far as i can see 4.9) or the eRoute Manual which is the windows software for windows based EFBs. Those are actually quite a bit different in how one can work with them. Personally i prefer the mPilot thing on the iPad, but only after i've learned some of the less obvious things. When it was introduced in a previous company we got access to the LH Systems LIDO CBT, took around 1,5 to 2 hours to complete and was quite thorough explaining lots, but not necessarily all about the app, the charting style and charting symbols. However, in that case using it was very simple, from the electronic OFP it was just the press of one button and the whole route, airports including alternates, was loaded straight into Lido so we had the whole routing info in the enroute map as well as the correct selection of airports. All we had to do was put the correct plates into the clipboard and swipe through that as we went through our day. Not to mention ownship position on the enroute chart was available as well, which gave moving map display especially useful on longer flights.

And then i went back in time by about 10 to 15 years and currently we have to put everything into the eRoute Manual manually and still print the OFPs like it is still 2005. That was is slow, cumbersome and i miss the clipboard function on the EFB to be quite honest, no moving map of any kind and the two-map style display for approach charts which is quite cumbersome.

I haven't used electronic jepp charts, we used them only way back in paper form, but with airport booklets, which seem to be a rather costly customer option for airlines. So i cannot really compare the electronic versions at all.

The eRoute Manual used to have all the features described years before the iPad app become reality. Something is severely not configured. I am not sure if the mPilot can already show the active SID / STAR highlighted on a chart, suppressing the other lines?

Own ship indication on the LIDO STAR plate is a handy feature. One thing that LIDO does not seem to have though is the ability to swipe rapidly between your selected plates - instead you have to select the plate list, then the plate you want. If you select the wrong plate. you have to go through the process again.

I also don’t like the split screen system on LIDO - I find it awkward and prefer to have the whole plate displayed and move it around with standard finger gestures to see what I need.

Jepp does have swipe changing between plates and also brings up your taxi plate if you want, as you decelerate through 80 or 70kts.

Does LIDO have swipe change ability hidden somewhere?

I guess one has to specify which Lido one means, either the windows (eRoute Manual) or the iPad app. The latter does not have the split screen layout, except between a list of your charts/airports and the chart itself which one can get rid off by tapping on the three stripes in the upper left corner. And yes, swiping with two fingers works nicely, but so does tapping on the title of the next or previous chart in the status bar below the chart picture. Haven't checked the two finger swipe on the eRoute Manual, and one choose not to display one of the two panes of the split screen, but in that case the information is not available anymore. And i haven't found the handy highlighting feature that the iPad version has. Which actually can be used to highlight the chosen STAR/SID while still having the other options available without getting a new chart set up, which would have helped my colleague today when we got cleared a different STAR than anticipated, briefed and set up on short notice.

LIDO we have is not on an iPad unfortunately, and the swipe feature does not work, no matter how many fingers I try.
No status bar either.

Not necessarily - I can skip from one selected chart to another using arrows located in the bottom right corner (LIDO eRM on Windows)

Thanks. Our LIDO is on an HP tablet, and it does not have those two arrows. It has the DOCS and the share logo at bottom right, but nothing below those.

I have trued about 5 times to upload a screenshot, but it won’t work for some reason.
