I'm trying to replace a dead terminal on a 747 Sim. The units are like small CRT TV displays with keyboards plugged in underneath and were used in the late 1980s for the Rediffusion SIM 90 series to run QTG processes from within the cab.

Can anyone help me with a suitable description to type in when searching for one or even let me know where in the UK to locate one?

Thanks.

I might be completely off track, it's a long time since I worked on a Redibodge sim, but the terminals may have been compatible with DEC VT100 units.

Thanks. Might be hard to find anything original to fit so might have to get IT to come over and mod a laptop to do the job.

Sounds like a plan. VT100 emulator software for PCs is freely available on the web.

BTW - SIM 90 or Concept 90?

Doh. Concept 90.

I tried using "PuTTY" on a laptop but it wasn't happy. I seem to have struck lucky with another program (forgot the name) which has a few quirks that make it miserably complicated to get it running right. Also, it's a nightmare once you shut down the QTG and try the Sim. Needs a full reboot before it is safe to run the motion.

Steep learning curve!

Thanks for the input.:ok:

No problem. Brings back happy (?) memories of running QTGs on the night shift.

Good luck!!
