Hi all
a large number of friends are confused as to the difference between Perf A and cat A.

approach speeds are defined as categories. Perf groups are defined as a b c or d depending on ac performance.

critically, I believe that Perf A is an aircraft capable of a loss of one engine at V1 can climb away with no change to config at a climb path of 2.5%

please help.

Aeroplanes are categorised in different performance categories.
Each group holds certain criteria to be able to be put in that group. One of them being the criteria your stated.

Also not to be confused with aircraft Code which is to do with the dimensions and therefore capability of taxiways and airfields to handle them.

Well to nit pick, aircraft performance does determine the Reference field length for the Aircraft Code :E
