How much longer can they persist with these things. I’ll never understand it.

Few dozen 787s deferred and deferred. While everyone else raced to phase out old ****boxes. What am I missing here!

Some how me things they may have managed to changes the engines and other dangly bits a few times since it was purchased in the early 90's. The age of the airframe is irrelevant.

I guess that BA (fleet of 34), KLM (13), Lufthansa (13), Thai (10) and Virgin Atlantic (8) didn't get your memo.

The QF 744s are hardly old...this aircraft VH-OJU being the oldest at 19 years old. The BA ones are 20 - 29 years old, the VS ones are 18-23 years, the Corsair ones are 27 years old. Theres more issues with the B787 and A350 engines than these old girls.

They are old in terms of tech, cabin pressure, humidity, noise, IFE, efficiency, etc, etc, etc... Should have been put out to pasture years ago.

Only old because somebody refuses to spend money on them apart from mandatory issues
