Hello guys. I got a question about ACARS Load Sheet on Airbus A/C.

The ground station normally sends the uplink messages as load sheet data through the ACARS in order to print out in the cockpit. this will be printed out automatically only one time. However, in case that we want to print other copy, could you advise us how to operate it? I heard that we can reprint it via ATSU on MCDU; however, we have tried this method but it was not successful.

In our Airbus (A320) all ACARS messages are accessible from the INBOX in the ATSU menu and can be reprinted from there. I understand though that the ATSU is company specific and yours may not have the same functionality.

Thanks you very much, AerocatS2A :)

So, it means that if I want to print out the uplink message, I have to do modification or upgrade the ATSU by contacting the Vendor in order to be able to use this function. Is it worth for doing this comparing the company is billed when sending and receiving the ACARS messages?

Our system prints out 2 loadsheets automatically. Probably, input into the system by the company.

The way it works for us is that the ACARS messages are stored locally in the MCDU and can be printed as often as you like. It is not being sent again so there shouldn’t be any additional charges.

Thank you AerocatS2A.

Based on my operation, there is no ACARS messages stored locally in the MCDU. So, would you mind if I ask you which is your ATSU P/N or version? I think the version of ATSU has the effect on this issue.

Currently, I have been checking the AOC application and ATSU SW. These two software need to have the compatibility index matching in order to be able to decode message via ATSU.

I will investigate when next at work. A correction though, the load sheet and other messages are in the INBOX (6L) in the AOC menu accessed via the MCDU MENU key.

Thank you AerocatS2A.

I have consulted with the Airbus and they said that it depends on the AOC provider. The loadsheet report is managed at AOC levels; therefore, to be available under AOC received message menu which the message can be retrieved for re-print, an AOC definition in line with a SMI/label associated to the Loadsheet report is concerned.

Ok. I’ve been back at work but not sure how to access ATSU version.

I have checked with the internal company database systems. Once I got all the things done, I will inform you too :)
