Hey,
SAERCO just won two contracts in Norway, ENCN TWR/APP and ENAL TWR.
Anyone have any experience with SAERCO, thinking workconditions etc?

Very low wages, lots of working hours, and if you want to leave be ready to pay.... read very carefully the contract before signing. Terrible T&Cs, at least in Spain.

Based on there track record in Spain:
Expect wages as low as legaly possible or as low as they can get them to cover the service to be provided.
Expect a reduction in manpower as much as posible. Maybe at first they will maintain and existing workers but if any leave they will only replace if they think they cannot maintain the service. Any shift/rest related laws will be pushed to the limit in certain situations although they are not as bad as competetors Ferronats, in Spain at least.
Organization-wise they are somewhat caotic and alot of the central office depaments are loaded with part time workers and even stundents being paid under the minimum wage. The sensation is that they are overrun most of the time.
Former president is linked to corruption cases in Spain and handed of to his brother in an attempt to keep the company out of the spotlight.
There was a case in Fuerteventura where they fired 2 workers that applied a local airport procedure correctly but the airport complained resulting in the dismissal. Local courts have said it was correctly applied and dismissal was unlawful.
They have their own ATC school and will probably cover needs with students from the school or offering courses with a % assured a OJT at the end.
When they started in Spain they offered training in exchange for remaining 3 years in the company.

In Madrid Barajas Platform Service they took over from Ineco and over night any new workers got lower salaries than existing ones (spainish law doesn't allow to drop salaries in a takeover). They also sell Platform Service courses so that tje workers they take on join them with a debt to pay.

They have consistently applied apprentice salaries for 1yr to new workers (60% of total expected salary)salar

Basically they are in it for the money as are all private companies, just some make it more obvious than others. Lower salaries, less workers, more hours.

If the hat fits wear it but it will end up being and uncompfortable hat in time. Most workers that joined in 2012 are elsewhere or wishing they were.

3 years later and, as far as I know, no one is happy with this privatisation. Avinor and the workers have realised the kind of company that Saerco is. Their plan was never to bring improvements in efficiency or safety. Their plan was just to lower wages and lay off workers. But the Norwegian law doesn't make it that easy. So Saerco isn't happy either and probably will leave the two towers at the end of the 5 year period.

If anyone has any more information about this it would be great to read it.
