Hello chaps -

I know this is the wrong forum but have posted here deliberately for our grass-roots knowledge of the UK flying scene.

Does anyone know of a small "Mum and Dad" style school where I can sit my Single Engine CPL (my intention is to go straight on to instructing, so I'm not bothered by ME and IR for now.) There's Booker and Aeros - and I had planned on investigating Airways Flight Training in Exeter, but they're sadly insolvent - is there anywhere else floating around the smaller airfields I may have missed?

I planned to do the training at Glacier Air here in Canada, but I'm running out of time on my visa and cash and, for practical reasons to do with converting a Transport Canada CPL to an EASA CPL, have decided to spend my last summer in Canada earning as much as possible and wait until I'm back home in England before taking the plunge.

Any and all advice from the distinguished league of PPruners gratefully accepted.

Cheers

Take a look at Andrewsfield Aviation, they teach for the CPL and FI, the location is good and the standards seem to be high from what I can see.

If you are worried about converting a Transport Canada CPL to an EASA one, wait 'till you leap into the dark and try converting a UK CPL to an EASA one after March 29th!

(since you are in Canada, you might not have heard of this Brexit thingy!)

If you’re North West London there is The Pilot Centre at Denham. C182RG.

Thanks everyone for your excellent suggestions :ok:

I don't think I would have found any of these on my own.

Much obliged to all.

I did my CPL at Aeros Gloucester, like hundreds of others, and I would highly recommend them.

You could try JD Aviation at Chester/Hawarden. They operate a Piper Arrow.
