Outbound yesterday ABZ - CDG was delayed as CAA Inspectors were on the aircraft (HOP E170). What do they inspect?

Anything they like... nah really have a look at this site sets out the European standard for these inspections. They shouldn't delay a flight unless there are safety reasons for doing so.

Thanks, delay was about 10 minutes so not significant in the scheme of things.

All inspections I've ever had is pretty straight forward. Licences and medicals, all documents in place and in date, manuals (if applicable), flight plan, trim sheets and a perusal of the tech log. When I got ramp checked in Schipol, they even breath tested us.

Most of the time, the inspectors are just interested in the different from usual airline aircraft.
