Anyone have a detailed report on their 'incident in the Azores'
available or could point me to the right place?

Here are some links:

Air Safe
http://www.airsafe.com/events/airlines/transat.htm

Aviation Now
http://www.aviationnow.com/avnow/spSec/ts236.jsp

Aviation Safety Online
http://www.aviationsafetyonline.com/articles/english/20010824_a330_azores.htm

As of the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB), the equivalent of the NTSB, their annual report of 2001-2002 says "...The TSB continues its participation in two high-profile transportation accident investigations: first,
as the accredited observer for Canada at the investigation into the Air Transat Flight 236 accident
in Lajes, Azores (Portugal)..."
http://www.tsb.gc.ca/eng/
You may contact them to see if the report is available. At least it is not online yet.

Now the Transport Canada link is
http://www.tc.gc.ca/air/menu.htm
And if you do a search under "Azores" you'll find some articles on that matter.
