The same was said about the recent Ryanair thread and that’s still going.

They’ve also cancelled the 320 neo order.... In the said memo they talk about 160 pilots surplus but at the moment they’ll only dismiss 50.
I feel sorry for our colleagues and I hope they’ll find something very soon.

Ryanair has not used legal leverage before to prohibit discussion on this website.

Ryanair has not used legal leverage before to prohibit discussion on this website.

It has used legal leverage on this website and past members who posted items which they knew were wilfully untrue when posted.

To be fair they gave said persons option of 1.) retract and apologise publicly with small charitable donation and no further legal action nor cost recovery or 2.) keep up the bravado with the "see you day in court routine" and a bill for all costs when you lose.

Option 2 became the preferred option on mature reflection,

But discussion about Ryanair has not been prohibited on this website.

We are all a bit globally challenged trying to keep up with events, especially when discussion is, indeed prohibited and, or, individuals are legally intimidated . Bit of insight in the Middle East section while it stays on line.

It has used legal leverage on this website,

Has it though - I asked before about this wand was told the impact was upon posters and not the actual website. If there has been legal leverage, then lets see the letter ?

Given the website is hosted outside of the UAE, there is little the UAE can do about it as no foreign webhost is going to pony up information to the UAE authorities.

Interesting to see how to someone can destroy a Company with such a tremendous potential and with such a giant financial capability in a matter of a few years. I think You really have to go for it.

Digressing off the thread subject but Ryanair went to US courts to obtain the data required on individuals who were stating items which didn't stand up to scruitiny. Said individuals details were provided and they were identified.

Ryanair via Solicitors contacts posters and provided them with options, apologise publicly in writing on said website, withdraw untruth and provide undertaken not to do so again, small donation to a charity and matter would be closed. Second option was Ryanair would proceed to court to clear its name. The bravado of posters was " I will see them in court" evaporated when they aware of just their own legal costs and that losing would have bankrupted people. In truth Ryanair could have just gone for option 2 with all, as was their legal right.

Post these events PPRuNe changed their T&Cs and were very clear about what you post is your responsibility.

Expecting Interbrand or anybody else to provide a copy of legal letters is not going to happen.
