Although this is going to sound like a ridiculous question at the present time in aviation, there is no harm in asking.

If a passenger, booked on a flight to say Dublin, was currently training to become a pilot, whether it be PPL or CPL, and they contacted the airline before their flight asking whether or not it would be possible to fly in the jumpseat on their flight, what do you think the answer from the airline would be.

The reason i ask this is because i know of a few people who have done this in the past, and i was thinking of contacting the airline which i am flying on soon to ask this question.

Although deep down i believe the answer will be "no way", i thought it would be best to consult you guys first.

The way I see it is that the airline will almost definitelty say no, but write a really good letter, and you might get a yes. You'll certainly get a no if you don't try. You've got nothing to lose in trying, hovever futile it probably is.
