Hello

A friend of mine is spending quite a long time in Florida and whilst there he would like to obtain an EASA PPL. Could anyone advise on a good flight school as im completely out of touch with the best ones out there these days.

Thanks

One of our students has recently relocated to Florida and found Pilots Paradise. I understand that it is run by UK ex-pats. Have a look at their web site and video.

If he wants an EASA PPL he will need to go to an EASA training organisation. This document (https://www.easa.europa.eu/download/ato/List-of-ATO-certificates.pdf) lists all the EASA ATOs outside of EASA, 4 of them in Florida.

Certain (ahem) EASA training organizations in Florida have managed to build up a very checkered reputation to say the least.
Depending on time and budget it would be much easier to simply choose an FAA school and fly whatever additional requirements for a conversion in your EASA home state.
