Hi

i am a little confused. They talk about 600-2 or 400-1, there are about 6 total. What are they referring too?

Could someone explain the about numbers?

I am from South Africa, here our minimas for Cat 1 will be RVR 550 or 800m Viz and 200' DA.

Thx

Go here and look at alternate weather minima.

Note that the alternate weather minima (which you're getting the 600-2 bit from) is for flight planning purposes, and they are different from approach/landing minima which is just RVR or visibility.

The document that extreme P posted has landing minima in there as well but it does get a bit complicated when you get into the Approach Ban and the type of operation you fly for and what authorizations the operation has.... for example, my airline can (generally) start an RNAV approach when there's only 50% of the required plate visibility but for an ILS we need 75% of the required plate visibility.

If you want more info, check out Section 9.18 in this document: https://www.tc.gc.ca/media/documents/ca-publications/AIM_2018-2-E-RAC.pdf
