What licences and ratings

What licences and ratings do I need in total to be a I(r) what I mean is can I skip it IR and just do PPL,IMC,NIGHT,HOURS,CPL? any feedback would be welcomed:D

Hi,

You can do an Instrument Rating with a PPL, but I believe that you would also need to pass the ATPL groundschool first.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

You need a CPL (including hours required) and do a FI(R) course. This is if you want to make "money".

You can also just add it to your PPL. This requires 50 more hours P1 than the CPL route and you can't earn any money.

If you wish to instruct others you will have to learn to be more precise. Your question has produced two totally different answers showing how easily it can be missunderstood.

The minimum qualification is a PPL with 200 hours, of which 150 must be PIC, with 30 hours on SEP aeroplanes of which 5 are in the 6 months prior to the pre-entry flight test. You must have passed the CPL theoretical examinations, have received 10 hours instrument instruction and completed 20 hours X-Ctry including a 300 nm X- Country and pass a pre-entry flight test.

If you wish to be paid, you will need a CPL which includes the night qualification.

Thanks for that very informative post strateandlevel, it seems my question has bred a few different interpretations which of course have all added to the answer I require. I am always so very surprised at how one simple question can conclude so many different answers. ;) aren't you?

I assume it was related to Flying instructor course and not the IR because you asked about skipping the IR.

I must admit I would like to get my IR whilst skipping the IR course, it would save me abit of money:D

On the point of being "misunderstood" that is what makes Pprune so interesting, type one letter wrong and you start off world war 3. It's all down to the missing body language that we normally have in conversations not being available to use. (That's what my Human Performance exam told me anyway):p
