Am at a junction point in a professional career outside aviation and, before discounting the idea completely, was wondering what realistically I might be able to offer in aviation....

Have a background in physical sciences with a dose of engineering and spent last decade advising on big capital project governance, how people interact with pretty complex software, role of culture and different professions in decision-making, amongst other things. Am a real people-person, so injecting Human Factors into a technical environment a daily preoccupation. :}

Am a relatively experienced PPL and was involved in a safety initiative a few years back, so have a bit extra and already some industry contacts.

Don't have aero eng degree or ATPL. And am in constant awe at how much aviation has seriously sorted out compared to other industries - an opportunity in itself!? - so not sure where outside perspective may be welcome or beneficial, but am just intrigued where any entry points might exist for transferable skills for someone with a passion for the sector and happy to adapt?

Realise not easy to give specific advice without seeing a CV, but appreciate any general thoughts, whether it be further education, organisations bridging aviation and other sectors, unsuspecting gaps in the industry, etc?

Thanks so much in advance for any feedback.

Just start looking for job openings on LinkedIn and/or your favorite job search app. When you find one that looks enticing, apply for it! Going through the process will help you understand the market, and you may even find a good fit.

If you're an aviator you'll do it anyway but expect to lose bucket loads of $$ as you start from the bottom. Like most of us, I did but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Flying is a significant addiction!!! I'm now retired and so glad as I look back that I didn't pass on flying and now sit wondering.

Your background sounds very relevant and very valuable.

Do you want to be a pilot, or are you looking for a management or technical job?
