What Whopity said, but the school/ATO/DTO doing the training, if it’s worth its salt, will have a course manual.

Ours was 2 hours Ground, one on the aspects of Tailwheel and one on the aircraft and systems.

The aircraft bits covered aircraft specifics, taxiing, take off, climbing, general handling and then circuits to include wheelers and three pointers, short field and crosswind.

Ask to see the relevant documentation and see what they hand out.

A good read ahead of the course would be “The Complete Taildragger.” Author escapes me for the moment.

On this subject, if someone has previously flown Tiger Moths, Chipmunks many years ago, what amount of time needs to elapse before it is a requirement for tailwheel differences training?

Thanks, Whopity. I was pretty sure I hadn't missed something but there was a mention of a CAA certificate on another school's site.

It's quite normal to stick a little "differences training complete" sticker in your logbook with the instructor's details and signature. That may be what's being referred to as a "CAA certificate".

(b) If the variant has not been flown within a period of 2 years following the differences training,
further differences training or a proficiency check in that variant shall be required to maintain the
privileges, except for types or variants within the single-engine piston and TMG class ratings.
