I guess the first lesson for new ATC staff in the near future is.....

"Today we are going to learn to tell the time on an analog clock"

Schools in the UK Are Removing Analog Clocks Because Students Can't Tell Time (http://www.odditycentral.com/news/schools-in-the-uk-are-removing-analog-clocks-because-students-cant-tell-time.html)

When I was an RAF ATCO (Yes, I know, I've a long memory), one of our new young ladies always held her wristwatch up to the radar screen when giving clock info. If the target was tracking in the southerly quadrant, her contortions were something to behold. I guess I should have suggested removing the watch from her wrist or making a little card clockface.
